Hideo Kojima ranges from nuclear physics to paleontology
Death Stranding was born from the visionary mind of Hideo Kojima, introducing a completely crazy genre, at least for this level of production. The adventure/delivery/action genre already existed in some previous indie titles, but no one had managed to create a work on par with this game.
The world of quantum and particle physics has never been so insane. By putting all these concepts together, you try to find a logical thread to understand the lore and, ultimately, decipher the reality that this game presents to us.

We can say that a wide array of complex STEM disciplines - along with other, more humanistic sciences like paleontology - were put to the test to create this dystopian sci-fi.
The game also explores the human side, providing an introspection into the relationships of all the characters, even the most minor ones and the worst villains. The relationship mechanics are based on a system familiar to almost everyone: the "Like" system, which strengthens bonds and makes deliveries easier for the main character, namely Sam Porter Bridges.
Sam must overcome other obstacles as well. He has to battle his social disorders and phobias, and cope with the trauma of PTSD, which makes the challenge much harder. Some sequences are characterized by high tension and horror-movie atmospheres, where anything can happen, even outside of missions.

The game flows well and is full of mysteries; try not to focus too much on side deliveries that yield no benefits. It features a flawless plot, but precisely because it was conceived by Hideo Kojima, it requires some theoretical and scientific knowledge to fully understand this crazy world.
