Jinx is absolutely detestable and ruins the experience
Arcane is an animated series based on League of Legends, co-produced by Riot Games and Fortiche Production. While I am aware of the vast universe surrounding the online game (a competitive genre that is far too difficult for my tastes), I will focus solely on the show, ignoring the broader lore.
The series is set in a steampunk universe split between two factions: the noble, utopian city of Piltover and the notorious undercity of Zaun, home to Vi and the unhinged Jinx. The narrative doesn't follow a strictly linear path, nor is it about saving the world in the traditional sense. Rather, it acts as a chronicle of the events and misfortunes surrounding the two protagonists.

Arcane boasts breathtaking art direction. The visuals, character designs, and 3D models are highly original and stand out in the animation industry. The CGI is so masterfully blended with 2D elements that the series often looks entirely hand-drawn.
However, the show suffers from structural flaws, most notably its wildly inconsistent pacing. The plot flows smoothly in certain parts, only to grind to a halt during moments that shouldn't drag, making the viewing experience exhausting at times.
As the story progresses, the plotlines become increasingly disconnected, and the show loses its cohesion. This is especially true in the second season, where the desperate need to include and acknowledge every character creates such convoluted complexity that the narrative devolves into a tangled mess.

The character I absolutely loathe the most is Jinx. She is the epitome of erratic, juvenile edge. Her writing is so inconsistent that her villainy feels performative rather than genuine, as she constantly backs down during crucial moments, especially when facing the show's most important characters.
I hate to break it to the fans, but this series bored me to tears. I tried rewatching it after some time, but my reactions were exactly the same. Forget about a third season.
