An epic trail circling the castle
A beautiful trail running race at the 9th Ecotrail Castel del Monte event. The course was full of obstacles; however, after getting over several hills, the satisfaction was immense when we started running around the highly famous octagonal castle.
As usual, I always show up well-prepared for these races: CamelBak, smartphone, and essential kit to easily tackle this 16.5 km route with 300 meters of elevation gain. During the race, the trail turned out to be untrodden and extremely narrow. Another difficulty was that the paths were riddled with rocks, making the chances of tripping very high.
Great satisfaction at the finish line, celebrated with refreshments featuring fresh burratina cheese.
